A few weeks ago, we met some friends in the northwestern corner of Montana for a week-long stay in a log cabin. It was so much fun and by the end of the week everyone was wishing we could extend the trip another week! The cabin was in a quiet community which made for a relaxing stay. But the best part was the short walk to the lake! We spent the majority of the trip enjoying the water, so that was perfect! Although we didn’t have a boat, we made up for it with floaties, kayaks, and a paddle board.
If you’re looking for a place to get away and want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Montana, you HAVE to checkout this cabin! It was the cutest! PLUS, if you are new to Airbnb, you can save $40 on your first stay!! Just click here to use my referral code and claim your savings!

We bought this inflatable stand up paddle board on Amazon a week before our trip and I am SO GLAD we did! I had been wanting a SUP paddle board for awhile, however I could never find one that was reasonably priced. I finally decided to try the inflatable version, and it worked great! In fact, I would recommend it over the heavy duty plastic paddle board options. Not only was this one a fraction of the cost, but I love that we have the option to deflate it for easier storage! If you have been looking for one but haven’t wanted to spend an arm and a leg, you HAVE to check out this one from Amazon! This post isn’t sponsored, I am just so happy with my purchase and want to encourage anyone who has been on the fence to try it out!
Our getaway in the mountains was a much needed break from reality and we truly cherished the time we got to spend with all of our friends from Oregon (Mike’s home state). We have both lived away from our friends/family for over 5 years now, so whenever we get to spend time with them we soak up every minute! With that said, we hardly took ANY photos… *gasp* Luckily, we remembered to take the camera with us for one last sunset out on the paddle board (hence all of the pictures above clearly being taken on the same day). Although we came home with only a handful of photos, we left with full hearts and a whole lot of amazing memories. And I’m not mad about that one bit!
What summer activities have you been loving? Did you catch the post where we took on a 4 mile hike to explore a high mountain lake? It was a doozy!
I’d love to hear what your favorite memory of summer is down in the comments below! I am trying to hold onto every ounce of summer left, it’ll be gone before we know it! Help me live vicariously through YOUR summer fun!
